Borgata Online Casino Review: A Second MGM Account Worth Having in NJ or PA?

Borgata Online and BetMGM are cousins. Both sit under MGM Resorts with Entain supplying the technology, and both take bets from adults in New Jersey. So the fair question is not whether Borgata is good. It is whether you need it if you already have BetMGM, or whether you should pick one and stop.

Our answer: for most people, pick one. For a smaller group, the second account earns its place.

A note on method. This desk sits outside the United States, and Borgata's own site tells us so. The page we reached said, in its own words, that Borgata Online is not available in the current location. We therefore did not deposit or cash out, and we do not claim to have done so. This review rests on Borgata's public pages, its App Store listing, published bonus terms and two independent write-ups, and we name the source of each figure.

Real-money play is for adults 21 or older who are physically inside New Jersey or Pennsylvania. If gambling is causing you harm, call 1-800-GAMBLER. Nothing here is financial advice, and no casino review can promise a win.

What you actually get that BetMGM does not

The brand, mostly. Borgata is the Atlantic City name, launched online in New Jersey in 2013 according to Gambling.com. It runs under New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement licences, and the site is also live in Pennsylvania.

The lobby is large. Gambling.com counts more than 2,000 games, over 50 progressive jackpot slots and about 25 live dealer tables supplied by Evolution. The slots are the story. The live section is the weak spot, and the same reviewer calls it limited.

BetMGM's lobby is, by most accounts, similar in kind and a little different in the exclusives. We would not choose Borgata for a game you cannot find at BetMGM. We would choose it for a bonus.

The welcome offer is the real reason to open a second account

BetMGM's New Jersey welcome deal was reported in April 2026 as a 100% match up to $2,500 plus 100 bonus spins (RotoWire). Borgata's is smaller and a good deal plainer.

Per Gambling.com's description, you choose between a 100% match up to $500 or bonus spins at 20 per $10 deposited, with a $10 minimum deposit. The match carries a 15x playthrough, applies to slots only, and has to be cleared in 30 days. Casino.org describes the same pair of offers with a separate promo code.

Run the sums. A $500 bonus at 15x means $7,500 of slot play before the bonus converts, and on a game with 96% return that costs roughly $300 of expected loss on average, though real sessions swing far from average. That is a fair price for a mid-size bonus, not a gift. Most of us would take a smaller deposit and the lower bar.

Offers change by state and by month. Read the terms on the day you sign up.

Getting your money back out

Payouts are where Borgata earns its better marks. Gambling.com lists instant withdrawals through Play+, PayPal, Venmo and Apple Pay, plus cash at the cage in Atlantic City, and says card payouts are processed as fast as it can manage. We could not time these ourselves. Treat "instant" as the operator's best case and expect identity checks before a first withdrawal: the site verifies you with the last four digits of your Social Security number and asks for documents if that fails.

MGM Rewards: useful in Las Vegas, thinner at home

Online play earns MGM Rewards credit, which can count towards comps and discounts at MGM resorts. If you stay at Borgata or an MGM property in Las Vegas, that matters. If you never leave your couch in Camden, the tier benefits are decoration. Our separate MGM Rewards review goes through what the tiers cost in play.

The app

Gambling.com cites a 4.7 App Store rating from more than 48,000 reviews and 4.3 on Google Play from over 10,000. The complaints it found were about earlier updates. Apple's listing is below.

Who should open it

Open Borgata if you want MGM Rewards, you like a lower-bar slots bonus, or BetMGM's promotions have gone quiet for you. Skip it if table games and live dealers are your habit: 25 tables is thin. If you have no account anywhere yet, compare it with FanDuel Casino, whose 1x playthrough is lighter still.

Set deposit limits before you play. Borgata offers timeouts, betting limits and the GameSense hub, and all of them are free to switch on.
