Caesars Rewards Review: What Platinum and Diamond Really Cost in Play

Caesars Rewards is free to join, but status is earned in tier credits. We work out how much slot play it takes to reach Platinum and Diamond, and whether the perks justify the spending.

Our verdict

Caesars Rewards is easy to join and generous to people who spend on hotels, food and shows, but it returns very little on gambling alone. By the published rates, Platinum means about $25,000 of slot wagering and Diamond about $75,000, for free play worth a fraction of one percent. Good for resort guests, poor value as a reason to gamble.

What works

  • Free to join, with six public tiers and clear tier credit thresholds
  • Hotel and dining spend earns credits at 1 per $1, a faster path than slots
  • Diamond adds 15% hotel discount, no resort fees and priority lines
  • One program across more than 50 Caesars casinos and resorts
  • Reward credits can go toward online casino bonus cash at a better rate

What does not

  • Slots earn only 1 credit per $5 wagered, so status is expensive in play
  • Land-based free play converts at 200 credits per $1
  • Reward credits can expire if you stop earning for six months
  • Tier credits restart each benefit year, with no carryover reported
  • Some Laurel Lounge access depends on location and tier

The useful question about a casino loyalty scheme is not what it gives you. It is what you must hand over to get it. Caesars Rewards costs nothing to join, so the price is paid in tier credits, and that is where we pointed our calculator.

We did not hold a year of play to write this. Caesars' own pages were readable, and a trade guide gave us the earning rates, so every number below is published rather than lived. Where sources differ, we say so. Membership is for adults of legal gambling age, generally 21, and rewards are a courtesy, not a reason to gamble.

The tier ladder, in credits

Caesars lists six tiers on its benefits overview: Gold at 0 credits, Platinum at 5,000, Diamond at 15,000, Diamond Plus at 25,000, Diamond Elite at 75,000 and Seven Stars at 150,000. A third-party guide adds an invitation-only Olympus tier above that, not yet live when we looked.

What Platinum costs if you play slots

According to the casinos.com guide, slots earn one reward credit and one tier credit for every $5 wagered. The amount counts as coin-in, not wins or losses. Video poker is one per $10. Table games are rated by pit staff from your average bet, hands per hour and time played, so you cannot calculate them in advance.

On those rates, 5,000 tier credits equals $25,000 of slot wagering. Diamond, at 15,000, equals $75,000. Those figures sound large because they are, though a $2 spin repeated 12,500 times gets there. Nobody should play to reach them, and we want to be plain about it: more play means more expected loss.

The payback is the sobering part. At 200 reward credits per $1 of free play on property, 5,000 credits is worth $25. That is about one tenth of one percent of the $25,000 wagered. Online, 100 credits equals $1 of bonus cash, so the same credits are worth $50, double.

Hotel and dining are the faster road

Hotels, restaurants and retail earn one tier credit and one reward credit per $1 spent. So 5,000 tier credits is $5,000 of resort spend, about five times faster than the equivalent slot play. If you stay in Las Vegas twice a year and eat out, you could reach Platinum without much gambling. That is the honest pitch for the program.

What the perks are worth

According to Caesars, Gold and Platinum get 10% off the best available room rate, and Diamond and above get 15%. Diamond also gets no resort fees, priority lines, a VIP reservations hotline, and a $100 Celebration Dinner voucher per benefit year. Laurel Lounge entry is listed for Diamond and higher, though Diamond may be charged. Diamond Elite adds a $600 airfare credit to Las Vegas, once a year.

Third-party guides list Platinum extras such as a free-night certificate per 5,000 credits, up to 7 nights a year, and parking perks. Those do not appear on the overview page we read, so confirm before you plan around them.

A fair read: Diamond's resort-fee waiver can be worth more than the discount on a Las Vegas trip. Platinum's value is mostly the free-night certificate, if it is still offered.

The catches we would flag

  • Reward credits can expire if you earn none for six months, according to the guide.

  • Free play on property is capped at $500 a day, in $5 steps.

  • Sports betting credits apply only above minimum odds.

  • Caesars states benefits for a benefit year of February 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027, and the guide says tier credits reset each January 1. Those two statements do not agree, so assume nothing carries over.

The app

The free Caesars Rewards app holds about 4.78 stars from roughly 182,000 ratings on the App Store. Its store screenshots show a balance screen with tier credits, an offers list and a room-booking tab. The reach behind it is wide: the company's property list spans the Las Vegas Strip, the Midwest and the South Atlantic.

Who should care

Join if you will visit a Caesars resort anyway, because the price of entry is zero. Do not change how much you gamble for tier status. Our 6.6 reflects a sound scheme for travellers and a weak one for people who wager. If gambling is costing you more than it should, in the US call 1-800-GAMBLER. Nothing here is financial advice.
